For the love of Boston Terriers
The rescue world is definitely not for the faint of heart. You will find very similar characteristics, however, in each of the four we are highlighting this month. A deep seeded love for animals….an overwhelming desire to help in whatever capacity they can….a drive to want to save each and every one of them in the face of incredibly high obstacles….a never say quit attitude. Although many rescues are “all breeds, shapes, and sizes”, for the month of June we are recognizing three amazing rescue organizations that focus primarily on the Boston Terrier.
Boston Terriers are very individualistic: Some are high-spirited and clownish, some are calm and dignified, even placid. Some are stubborn characters, while others are sweet and gentle. But in general, the Boston Terrier is an altogether dapper and charming little dog. Playing games and chasing balls are (frequently) two of his passions.
Seeking companionship is another, for the Boston always wants to be with his family. His large expressive eyes, attentively cocked head, and snorting and snuffling sounds bring out parental feelings in many people. Extremely sensitive to his owner's moods, some Boston Terriers are one-person dogs, with a special affinity for the elderly. But many are outgoing with everyone, and even the ones who are a bit standoffish are polite. Yet he is a dependable watchdog who will let you know when someone is at the door.
All four of our highlighted Boston Terrier rescues, American Boston Terrier Rescue & Rehabilitation, Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas, Boston Terrier rescue of Florida, and Northeast Boston Terrier Rescue are primarily all-volunteer, non-profit groups dedicated to the health and well-being of the Boston Terriers they take in. They rely primarily on temporary foster homes to get their Bostons ready for their forever homes by receiving the necessary care and training while being part of a loving foster family. Foster homes allow Bostons to play outside and learn how to socialize with humans and other pets. They are committed to saving Boston Terriers who are lost, abandoned or surrendered regardless of age, health or adoptability. American Boston Terrier Rescue and Boston Terrier Rescue of North Texas have a major focus on special needs Boston’s, which includes physical and behavioral special needs. They help dogs with serious medical problems because they believe, whenever possible, that every dog should have a chance for a happy, healthy life. Agility training and practice provides a fun way for the dogs to get physical therapy, learn obedience and boosts confidence in low confidence dogs.
Their missions and main objectives are to rescue and rehabilitate homeless Boston Terriers. Unfortunately, the veterinary expenses often far exceed the amount of the adoption donation, and they must rely on dog lovers like you to provide financial assistance. An unaltered dog with heartworms can cost the rescue upwards of $300, just for basic medical care. If a dog has multiple medical conditions, the cost of vetting can become overwhelming and expensive. An easy way to contribute to any of these four's expenses is to make of one them your favorite charity on AmazonSmile. AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support your favorite charitable organization every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization.
All four stay busy rescuing, training, rehabilitating, transporting, vetting, coordinating and fundraising - all for the love of our chosen breed, the Boston Terrier. All four contribute their successes to their hard work and dedication to this very active and amusing breed. THANK YOU to all of you who believe in the unconditional love the rescued Boston Terriers need.

Please add The Pittie Party of Central FL to your list of rescues. I foster for them. They rescue mostly Pitbull or Bully breeds.
